ACCELERATING CIRCULARITY LAUNCHES NEW WORKSHOP TARGETING THE KEY BARRIER TO TEXTILE CIRCULARITY: INTERNAL MISALIGNMENT

NEW YORK, NY — April 29, 2026 — Accelerating Circularity today launched Textile-to-Textile Circularity Foundations, a two-day workshop developed from its industry programs to support cross-functional alignment in textile-to-textile circularity. The program is grounded in work carried out across 28 trials in collaboration with 74 participants across 21 countries.

Designed for teams across sourcing, design, sustainability, and supply chain functions, the workshop responds to a critical shift in the industry: the move from circularity ambition to execution.

WHERE EXECUTION BREAKS DOWN

Many organizations working on textile circularity already have defined goals. The challenge is execution.

Textile-to-textile systems are complex and evolving. Teams within the same organization often operate with different assumptions about what is possible, leading to misalignment in decision-making and slowed implementation.

ALIGNING HOW TEAMS MAKE DECISIONS

The program reflects the need for alignment across design, sourcing, and supply chain functions to scale textile-to-textile systems effectively.

It focuses on current system realities in textile-to-textile circularity and provides a shared framework for how teams assess what is feasible within those systems.

The workshop draws from Accelerating Circularity’s work building textile-to-textile supply chains with industry partners, turning circularity goals into operational reality.

HOW THE WORKSHOP WORKS

The program consists of five structured modules delivered over ten hours, in-person, designed to support facilitated, applied discussion and decision-making across functions.

Topics include:

  • current capabilities in textile-to-textile systems

  • differences in how functions assess feasibility

  • operational trade-offs in material decisions

  • implications for internal alignment and decision-making

HOW ORGANIZATIONS MOVE FORWARD

Participants leave with:

  • shared understanding of system constraints and capabilities

  • alignment across functions on what is feasible today

  • clarity on trade-offs in sourcing and material decisions

  • defined next steps for internal implementation

“In my work building circular materials with players across the textile industry, I see that different teams, and even individual team members, interpret circularity differently. This misalignment slows progress.  Scaling circular, T2T systems requires a shared, operational understanding across functions, along with aligned action plans. This program was built to give organizations the alignment and clarity they’ve been missing.” — Sarah Coulter, Americas Program Director, Accelerating Circularity
