Part-Time Management Accountant
A few days a month. A meaningful impact on how we plan, grow, and deliver our mission.
Accelerating Circularity is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will help build the financial reporting, forecasting, and project-level analysis needed to support our next stage of growth.
About Accelerating Circularity
Accelerating Circularity is a nonprofit do-tank focused on advancing textile circularity at commercial scale through a collaborative, stakeholder-led approach. Operating through a U.S. nonprofit and European foundation, we help orchestrate the shared infrastructure that enables supply chains to realize the value embedded in used textiles and keep materials in circulation.
Our vision is a world in which textiles are no longer wasted. Since 2019, our core values—Action, Transformation, and Collaboration—have guided our work to create impact and drive systemic change alongside a wide range of industry partners.
About the Role
Our day-to-day bookkeeping processes are well established: transactions are recorded accurately, invoices are issued on time, and payments are scheduled reliably. We are now looking to build the next layer of financial management: clear management accounts, cash flow forecasts, and project-level financial reporting that provide leadership and the Board with an accurate, forward-looking view of the organization.
You will work closely with our bookkeeper, who manages day-to-day transactional activity, and directly with our CEO, a qualified accountant, to define and develop financial reporting that fits an organization of our size and stage.
This is an opportunity to design and own a practical management accounting function from the ground up. Rather than joining a rigid, established process, you will help create sustainable systems, reporting rhythms, and financial tools that can grow with the organization.
Key Areas of Experience
We are looking for someone with hands-on experience in:
Budgeting and forecasting
Management reporting
Cash flow management
Project accounting
The following experience would also be an advantage:
Nonprofit accounting
Grant funding, reporting, and accounting
What You’ll Be Building
In this role, you will help develop and maintain:
Monthly management accounts and Board-ready reporting packs
Rolling cash flow forecasts
Project-level financial reporting, including budgets, burn rate, and runway analysis
Financial forecasts to inform strategic planning and funding decisions
A sustainable, repeatable reporting rhythm that can evolve as the organization grows
What You’ll Bring
A recognized accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent, or substantial comparable management accounting experience
The ability to work independently from raw bookkeeping records and translate them into clear financial insight
Strong Excel or spreadsheet modeling skills
Experience using accounting software, such as QuickBooks
Familiarity with U.S. and/or Netherlands financial reporting requirements is helpful, but not essential
An interest in helping a small, mission-driven organization build durable financial systems rather than simply maintain the status quo
Language Requirement
Fluent written and spoken English is required for this accounting position. The successful candidate must be able to accurately prepare, review, and interpret financial records, invoices, reports, and other accounting documentation.
Additional language skills are welcome and may be considered an asset.
Role Details
Approximately 3–4 days per month
Flexible, remote working arrangement
Close collaboration with the bookkeeper and CEO
Opportunity to shape the role as financial reporting needs continue to mature
